The Beallsville community is mourning the loss of Kayla L. Dimmerling, who died Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at the age of 38, just days after celebrating her birthday. Her passing has left her children, family members, friends and others who knew her grieving a woman remembered for her devotion to family, connection to her community and appreciation for the simple joys of life.
Born August 12, 1988, in Cambridge, Ohio, Kayla was the daughter of John H. Carter III and Christy L. Stottsberry Ferguson. She was a 2006 graduate of Shenandoah High School and later attended dental hygienist school in Cambridge. She was also a member of the First Church of Christ in Caldwell, where she maintained a connection to her faith and community.
Those who knew Kayla will remember the importance she placed on her family, particularly her children. Her life was centered around the people she loved, and her children held a special place in her heart.
Away from school and her professional interests, Kayla found happiness in activities that reflected her love of family, nature and rural life. She enjoyed hunting, canning and horseback riding, while her years participating in 4-H and showing sheep provided cherished experiences and memories.
Kayla is survived by her children, Lincoln D. Dimmerling and Anzlee E. Dimmerling, both of Lewisville. She also leaves behind her sister, Linsey R. Franklin, III, step-siblings, grandparents, extended family members and her special aunt, Julia Ogle.
For her loved ones, her death represents the loss of a daughter, mother, sister, relative and friend whose presence was woven into the lives of those around her. At only 38, Kayla’s passing came at a time when her family still expected to share many more birthdays, holidays and everyday moments with her.
The family has elected to hold a private service, with burial to follow at Hoskinsville Cemetery. McVay-Perkins Funeral Home in Caldwell is assisting the family with arrangements.
As relatives and close friends mourn privately, Kayla’s memory will remain connected to the people and activities that meant the most to her. Her love for her children, her family roots and the rural traditions she enjoyed throughout her life will continue to form an important part of the legacy she leaves behind.
The loss of a loved one is never easy, but for Kayla’s children and family, the days ahead will be filled with memories of the woman they knew and loved. Her life may have ended at 38, but the relationships she built and the moments she shared with those closest to her will remain.
