Alyshia Rushing, a popular TikTok creator known to hundreds of thousands of followers as “Mama A,” has died following a devastating two-vehicle crash in Montgomery, Alabama. She was 26 years old.
The fatal collision happened early Saturday morning, August 22, 2026, on Interstate 85 in Montgomery, between the Taylor Road and Chantilly Parkway exits. According to a preliminary crash report obtained by WSFA, Rushing was driving a 2013 Kia Sorento when it traveled northbound in the southbound lanes of I-85 and collided head-on with a 2015 Toyota Tacoma driven by 20-year-old Landon Dunn.
Both Rushing and Dunn suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger traveling in Rushing’s vehicle survived and was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were described as non-life-threatening. The Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences is conducting autopsies and toxicology testing, with those results still pending.
Rushing had built a substantial online following through her TikTok account, where she shared portions of her life as a mother of four. She had more than 500,000 followers, with reports putting her audience at nearly 540,000. Her content centered largely on motherhood, family life and everyday experiences.
Her family confirmed her death through a fundraising campaign established to help with funeral expenses and provide support for her four children. In the tribute, Rushing’s mother described her daughter as an exceptional mother and a strong woman whose kindness and love touched many people.
The sudden loss has prompted an outpouring of grief from followers who had come to know Rushing through her videos. Her death has been particularly painful for those closest to her because she was not only a social-media personality but also a mother whose four children are now facing the loss of their parent.
The other victim, Landon Dunn, was also remembered by those close to him. A fundraising campaign established for his family identified him as a U.S. Marine, and friends described his death at just 20 years old as a devastating loss.
Investigators have not yet established why Rushing’s vehicle was traveling in the wrong direction on the interstate. The preliminary report confirms the direction of travel and the head-on nature of the collision, but toxicology and other investigative findings remain pending.
The crash has left two families grieving and has deeply affected Rushing’s online community. Friends, relatives and followers have been sharing condolences while efforts are underway to support her children during the difficult period ahead.
Alyshia Rushing’s death is a heartbreaking reminder of how quickly a roadway collision can change multiple lives. For those who followed “Mama A,” her legacy will remain closely connected to the family life and motherhood she shared with her audience.
The investigation into the Montgomery crash remains ongoing, and additional information may be released as authorities complete their examination of the collision.
